Shantae and the Pirate's Curse Nintendo Wii U
Shantae is one of those series that some people talk about, but not many. In terms of history I'm a total newbie when it comes to the series, as Shantae and the Pirate's Curse is the first one that I've played - seriously anyway, *Story As usual let’s start with the story. The story is fairly by the numbers in this case. The Pirate King is going to reawaken unless you destroy the evil lurking within various areas found on islands. You play as Shantae, who was a half genie in previous titles, but isn’t in this game because of something that happened at the end of the previous titles, I haven't played them. For this particular adventure you team up with Risky, who as I gathered from my short experiences with the first game is the main villain of the series. Crash Bandicoot: Warped Playstation 1
As a Nintendo guy growing up I'd never played the Crash Bandicoot games, so when I finally got a PS3 the first games that I jumped on to try were the original three in said series. I'm not one for introductions, so let's jump straight in. The gameplay - in my opinion anyway is the most important part of any game. Crash 3 nails it... to an extent. It controls decently, if not a little bit stiff due to being controlled with the d-pad (my preference after the first 2 titles). Jumping is tight and spinning is satisfying, so pretty much no issues here. Each stage feels different from the last, and the game has no issue with changing up the gameplay style, sometimes drastically in order to keep the game feeling fresh.
