C'mon.... I find it hard to believe I am the ONLY person on this site who owns a PS4. So, since there are no topic here, allow me to begin the first one by asking what those of you with a PS4 think of the PlayStation Now service.
Personally, I think it's MUCH better that they're going with a subscription model. A lot of people have complained about the $20 monthly sub cost, but if you think about it... when the games were "pay-to-play" some of them were $19.99 for just 30 days of time... and that's not 30 days that you can log in whenever and play them. That was 30 days starting the first day you played it. so if, say... you started a game you bought a 30-day rental on and then got sick and ended up in the hospital for a month, you would be totally SOL and that $20 would have gone down the drain. With this new model, you pay $20 a month for unlimited access to a LOT of games, including some of the best titles on PS3. Sony has already stated that they're planning to add more games every month to the current list, and they're even going to go back and pull stuff from their entire catalog off the PS2 and PSOne.
So... Will I be subbing to this service? Probably, for at least a month or two. There are some games in the current collection that I've been wanting to try, but I've been afraid to actually buy because I'm worried I won't be able to get into them and end up just wasting my money. The Last of Us, for example, is one of the games I will be trying before I buy through this service... I know it's got an amazing story and top-notch voice acting, but I've always been iffy about it because I'm not sure how the shooting will control and 80% of games where it's the main fighting mechanic I just SUCK at it. I do agree with those who have said that Plus members should get a discount on the sub price, though.
What are you opinions on the new version of PSNow? Will you be subbing, if only to check it out, or are you going to hold off for now to see if the prices come down? Or are you just not interested at all? Discuss!
