Really shitty port to PC. It's a good game though.

By far one of my favorite games I've ever played. I fell in love with the gameplay (though in the newer titles they improve some things) and with the lore of the game.

The lonely melancholic dark world of this game makes me feel comfortable, like I have a place to belong. I guess people who prefer DKS2 over this one can't feel that... good for them.

it's a bit weird to see this game generally be referred to as the great classic of souls games since it's basically just a beefed up version of demon's souls, but it is a more than worthy follow-up. does have some glaring inconsistencies in difficulty design, but if you can live with (or even enjoy) being an underpowered weakling and dying many tedious deaths until you have finally learned the game's rules and used the broken weapon upgrading system to its full extent, what you are left with is a surprisingly manageable game of unparalleled world building, deep atmosphere, gritty and challenging combat, fantastic sound design, and breathtaking visuals. successfully builds on the foundation laid by its revolutionary predecessor to craft something truly special. one of the most important games of the 2010s.
