Are you interested in joining our team? We've got a few positions which may interest you. If you see a job you like please shoot us an email - [email protected] with some information about yourself and why you think you'd make a good fit on our team. At this time, all positions are volunteer positions. Even though they are volunteer positions, we do require you fulfill your duties. Please expect to allocate 3-4 hours a week to your position. Read about all of our positions below.

Proficiency in the English language is a must for all positions.

Developer

As a Developer you will live and breathe code. The site is mainly developed in PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript and utilizes an SQL backend. You should be proficient in these languages and should be able to hit the ground running once accepted. As a developer you will spend between 2-5 hours a week working on the code to improve it as well as add new features for our users. You will understand how version control works, merge requests, and be able to follow coding guidelines and code styling guidelines. You may be assigned to work on and implement specific features or fixes and you may be required to work as an individual or as a team member.

  • Ability to utilize Git and/or other version control software
  • Ability to understand and follow requirements, policies and guidelines set forth
  • Ability to work alone or within a team
  • Ability to write in PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript as well as have an understanding of SQL queries
  • Ability to utilize a basic issue/ticket system to create, respond, and resolve issues
  • You must above all, really enjoy video games, and have a desire to better our community

Game Database Administrator

As a Game Database Administrator you will manage adding and editing games. You will need to have excellent English proficiency and have great attention to detail. You will be able to work as an individual as well as be apart of a team You will be able to manage your time and be able to follow and complete tasks given to you. Your main objectives will be to add new games into our database as well as edit and resolve any issues with games that have been previously added into our database.

  • Ability to use a custom built tool to add and modify games in the database
  • Ability to understand and follow requirements and policies for games being added into the database
  • Ability to work alone or within a team
  • Able to create and modify (as necessary) game box art and use an FTP client to upload them
  • Ability to utilize a basic issue/ticket system to create, respond, and resolve issues
  • You must above all, really enjoy video games, and have a desire to better our community

Site Content Administrator

As a Site Content Administrator you will be responsible for handling any content within the website. This includes but isn't limited to, posting news articles, managing featured games on the home page, comments on game and user profiles, comments on posted news articles, management of game reviews submitted by users and more. You will make sure the content on the site is of high quality and when it comes to user submitted content, making sure it is appropriate and where necessary, follows guidelines. You will also manage any flagged or reported content (such as comments on games or user profiles).

  • Ability to manage user generated content
  • Ability to understand and follow requirements, policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work alone or within a team
  • Ability to utilize custom tools to perform your duties
  • Ability to utilize a basic issue/ticket system to create, respond, and resolve issues
  • You must above all, really enjoy video games, and have a desire to better our community

Forums Moderator

As a Forums Moderator you will make sure any content within our forums is appropriate and assist users where necessary. It's important as our community grows that we make sure any user submitted content is appropriate for all audiences. As with any community there will be users who aren't able to follow simple rules and guidelines and it will be your job to handle it appropriately. You may also be tasked with making sure any user submitted suggestions or bugs make their way into our issue tracking software.

  • Ability to manage and moderate forums
  • Ability to understand and follow requirements, policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work alone or within a team
  • Already have familiarity with forum software and management
  • Ability to utilize a basic issue/ticket system to create, respond, and resolve issues
  • You must above all, really enjoy video games, and have a desire to better our community
