Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness takes place between Star Ocean: The Second Story and Star Ocean: Till the End of Time, the second and third games in the main Star Ocean series. It is set on the planet Faykreed, 6000 light years from Earth.

Announced characters are Fidel Camuze, voiced by Kaito Ishikawa, who is the protagonist of the game and a fencer who protects his home village; Miki Sauvester, voiced by Nao Toyama, who is the heroine of the game, Fidel's childhood friend, and who looks up to Fidel like an older brother; and Relia, an emotionless and amnesiac girl.
