Disney Action Games Collectors' Edition

Disney Action Games Collectors' Edition is a compilation release that features 3 games: Disney's / Pixar - A Bug's Life, Disney's Tarzan & Disney's Tigger's Honey Hunt.

1) DISNEY'S / PIXAR - A BUGS'S LIFE: You play the role of a purple ant named Flik in this free-roaming 3D game based on the 1998 computer animated movie by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Flik needs your help in saving an ant colony from an evil grasshopper named Hopper and his band of evil insects.

The game is composed of five acts spanning three levels each, with twenty scenes from the movie mixed in to help further the story. As in most 3D platform games, you'll need to complete various objectives before advancing to the next level. These tasks range from finding an anthill to gliding across a riverbed canyon using only a dandelion.

Throughout each level, Flik will have to battle various enemies on both the ground and in the air, including spiders, cockroaches, stink bugs, flies, beetles and grasshoppers. You'll also have to confront boss characters at the end of each act. Flik isn't defenseless though; he can throw berries, butt-bounce on enemies or simply run away from the danger. You'll also be able to pick up seeds and drop them wherever you want -- once you bounce on them, they'll grow into plants to help in your adventure.

Disney/Pixar's A Bug's Life includes authentic voices from a majority of the movie's stars as well as an original music score.

A Bug's Life closely follows the movie's story, perfectly recreating the computer-generated characters and environments of the film. When you successfully complete the different levels you are rewarded with a movie sequence, which you can then save onto a Memory Card and play back in the in-game movie gallery.

2) DISNEY'S TARZAN: In this adaptation of Walt Disney's animated film of the same name, Disney's Tarzan for the PlayStation swings into action with 13 levels set within a dangerous jungle. While the graphics are in 3D, play involves moving from left to right to find the exit, similar to that of a 2D platform game. Levels begin with animated film clips, each telling part of the story as Tarzan grows from a young boy to a man.

The jungle is filled with dangerous animals that will diminish Tarzan's health (represented by a vine) every time he makes contact with them. Among the animals you'll encounter are frogs, baboons, rhinos, alligators, coconut-dropping birds and even enemy hunters. Of course, not all of the animals are there to hurt you. Your friend, a female gorilla named Terk, will offer some tips along the way, and Tantor the elephant can also help out during certain stages.

Moves include swinging from vine to vine, climbing trees or ledges, jumping over enemies and pounding the ground. The latter technique is useful for revealing hidden power-ups or breaking certain structures so you can continue onward. Tarzan can also throw an unlimited number of fruit at the animals as well as use a knife and spear (once found).

Besides making his way through the jungle, Tarzan can collect items to help him succeed. These include Tarzan coins (an extra life is earned for every 100 coins collected); letters to spell T-A-R-Z-A-N, which will let you watch opening movies from the option screen; four pieces of a sketch to open up a bonus round; and three different pieces of fruit to increase attack power. Bananas are also available to replenish lost health.

Fans of the animated film will experience levels that closely follow its story, from trying to outrun stampeding elephants to saving Tarzan's gorilla family from the evil hunter Clayton. Players will also be able to slide down a jungle vine at high speeds from a perspective behind Tarzan!

Battle the leopard Sabor and meet up with Professor Porter and his daughter Jane as you strive to become lord of the jungle. A memory card with one block free is required to save progress, but players can revisit past levels to hunt down every artifact. Complete the game with a 100% rating to unlock a special secret!

3) DISNEY'S TIGGER'S HONEY HUNT: Kids of all ages are invited to travel to the 100 Acre Woods in Tigger's Honey Hunt. Winnie-the-Pooh wants to have a party but he's running low on honey. The effervescent Tigger agrees to help by heading off into the forest to look for more.

This adventure takes Tigger through nine different levels of friendly platform action, full of challenges like slippery ice, falling boulders, and creepy caves. Three mini-games are included and solving these will give Tigger the ability to do special jumps that will allow him access to more areas in the main game. Though the title provides entertainment for the whole family the gameplay is best suited for children, aged four years and up.
