Final Fantasy Anthology combines two titles from the Final Fantasy series and offers PlayStation owners a glimpse into the past. Huge worlds, in-depth storylines, and innovative battle and magic systems, and an incredible cast of characters all make for a deep gaming experience.
The inclusion of Final Fantasy V marks the first time this title has appeared on a console in North America. Final Fantasy VI, originally released as Final Fantasy III on the SNES system in the U.S., makes its first appearance on the PlayStation. Both games in this compilation feature never-before-seen CG movies, adding to the appeal of these classics.
Anthology included several changes to the games, the most noticeable ones being the CGI openings and closings. In addition, Final Fantasy VI included an Bonus, which included the following features:
-Cinematics Theater -Concept Art -Bestiary -Dragon's Neck Colosseum Bet/Fight/Win List -Esper List -List of Strago's Lores
Most of the features require the player to beat the game once before viewing them, but the Cinematics Theater, Concept Art, and Bestiary all can be accessed from the beginning, although only half of the features in said categories can be accessed at that point. In addition, Squall Leonhart occasionally makes an appearance on the title screen (of VI), in sprite form.
