Portal 2 In Motion is a DLC campaign for Portal 2 designed by Sixense for use with the high-performance motion tracking of the PlayStation Move motion controller. Building on the characters and world from Valve's Portal 2, Sixense created Portal 2 In Motion to provide the most intuitive motion control experience ever seen. Players use the PlayStation Move motion controller to reach, rotate and scale objects in order to solve increasingly challenging puzzles that require creative use of motion. Portal 2 In Motion also adds new depth and possibilities to the familiar tools from Portal 2, requiring the player to fire portals at precise angles and to throw Weighted Storage Cubes with measured force. The light on the PlayStation Move motion controller changes automatically to correspond to the color of the last portal created (either blue or orange), just like your Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in the game.
P2IM features 20 test chambers that progress in difficulty from tutorial to advanced levels. Players choose to play as either Atlas or P-Body (the robots borrowed from Portal 2), and use new motion features like 1-to-1 control of objects, Portal Surfing (moving and reorienting placed portals) and scaling cubes. When used in conjunction with familiar features imported from Portal 2 (such as Excursion Funnels, Hard Light Bridges), the possibilities quickly multiply. Because Sixense is focused exclusively on developing motion content, we believe that we can deliver new experiences that will get gamers excited about motion gaming – P2IM is just the beginning.
● PlayStation Move users on PS3 can cross-play with Razer Hydra users on PC.
