Taiko no Tatsujin: Tokumori! is the second Taiko no Tatsujin game exclusively for the Wii U. The game boasts a collection of 100 playable songs, and features appearances of guest characters such as Funassyi, Kumamon and Hatsune Miku. Unlike the first Wii U game, the free downloadable songs are not being promoted with as much fanfare, even though the few that are available at launch are still free of charge. Both free and paid downloadable content, including outfit items and additional playable songs, are available via the Nintendo eShop.

Several features from the first Wii U Taiko remain, including the expansive costume and color customization (with Miiverse sharing!) and the multiplayer Baton Pass mode in which many players pass the Wii U Gamepad or other controller around to clear a song cooperatively. A new multiplayer mode called 'Intro Don!' involves players trying to guess song titles based on the music playing in the background and earn coins, which in turn are used to buy costume parts and other goodies at a Gacha store. Most of the game's unlockable songs come from this store.
