Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem, is a tactical role-playing remake of Fire Emblem: Monshō no Nazo, developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. It is the twelfth entry to the Fire Emblem series and the second Fire Emblem remake for the Nintendo DS. The game also contains a version of BS Fire Emblem: Akaneia Senki in its Extra Mode.

The game stars Marth, the hero of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the original Monshō no Nazo as he fights in a conflict known as the "War of Heroes". He is accompanied by his trusted friend, an Altean knight and unsung hero of the war, referred to as the "Hero of Shadow". The player can customize this new character, such as choosing their name, gender, facial appearance and starting class. New prologue and sidestory chapters heavily feature the new character and offer chances to recruit new and previously unobtainable characters.
