The hit PC hunting title makes its Game Boy Color debut with three distinct regions in which to hunt: Colorado, Montana, and New Mexico. After choosing a state, players can outfit themselves with a scoped semi-automatic rifle, a blackpowder muzzleloader, or a compound bow. Each weapon varies in difficulty, with the bow being the most challenging due to its limited range, slower reload time, and ability to be affected by wind.
Options to improve a player's likelihood of bagging game include cover and attractant scents to reduce the chance of the animal noticing the hunter or to influence how close it will approach. Play begins from an overhead map of the selected region as hunters scan for animal activity using a crosshair target. Once activity is detected, players can switch to a first-person view of the area to shoot potential deer, elk, sheep, or bear.
