Six-Guns is a free-to-play third person shooter set in the old west. The player takes the role of Buck Crosshaw, an outlaw who has been forced to fake his own death and flee to Arizona. Now he finds himself in a new land but he is all too familiar with the violence he encounters.
The game starts with the player rescuing a lady from an assaulting gang of bandits and from thereon he gets to take on many different missions around the country. Although it might seem like a traditional western story, there are also many super natural elements in the game such as the night walkers, undead creatures similar to a mix of zombies and vampires.
The game features an open world consisting of Arizona and Oregon that the player can explore either by foot or on horse back. While travelling the country there are various missions to take on. These involve shootouts, dungeon crawling, horse races and collectible hunting. Once a mission is completed gold and experience is awarded.
The player then levels up after a while and gets increased health and new unlocked items. The only problem is that enemies get harder too. Gold can be used to buy new equipment such as guns, clothing. horses etc. Part of the game's currency are also sheriff stars that can be bought for real money and then traded for in-game items. It's also possible to buy gold, experience and health boosts.
Controls are similar to other smartphone games. The left part of the screen has a v-pad that is used to move around while the camera is moved by dragging the screen. Zooming can be done by pinching the screen. When shooting it's possible to enter an aim mode for better precision. It's also possible to take cover behind objects.
When taking damage in combat the player can instantly get a healing kit from the game shop. Even when health reaches zero the player can still choose to buy healing. If he chooses not to, he will fail the mission and has to restart it. Missions can also be autocompleted by paying sheriff stars. Outside of missions health automatically recharges.
