Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter – Balance of Power is an add-on to Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. It adds several new, non-flyable ships, including the Imperial Super Star Destroyer. The only controllable new craft is the B-Wing.

The add-on also features a campaign for both sides, revolving around the battle between the Empire's Avenger Squadron and the Rebels' Rogue Squadron in the Airam Sector. Cutscenes between the missions tell the story. In addition to the campaigns there are also new melee and combat missions, as well as other miscellaneous improvements.

As in the original game, all missions can be flown in both single- and multiplayer mode.
