Payday 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter video game in development by Overkill Software. It is the sequel to Payday: The Heist. A beta version of the game was available to those who pre-purchase Payday 2 Career Criminal, which also gives you another beta key to gift a friend (Does not work if you pre-purchase the regular Payday 2) via Steam on July 24th. It is set to be released on Microsoft Windows on August 13, 2013, with an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 release by the 16th.

It involves the player and their team performing bank heists and robberies. Gameplay is heavily improved and expanded since its predecessor, with a number of new abilities. The game was first announced in February 2013 and later previewed in March of that year, alongside an announcement of the developer's parent company: Starbreeze Studios's partnership with 505 Games.
