The story centers around the dogs Pongo and Perdita who protect their pups against the evil Cruella De Vil. The software consists of four mini-games that aim to improve children's reading comprehension, vocabulary, and problem-solving skills. In addition there are six sing-alongs and a way to practice using a dictionary. The dictionary contains rhymes read aloud by Lucky and it includes a thesaurus.
The game can be played as interactive software (Read and Play), but also just as a narrated story without game elements (Read to Me).
The story is narrated overall several pages with the text shown and difficult words highlighted. At several points one of the mini-games can be started.
● Break the Secret Code: help Kipper decode the animal calls to find a password to open a gate. There are three levels with a corresponding difficulty ranging from three- to six-letter words.
● Canine Commons: using the skills of memory, reading, recognition and vocabulary, there are three levels where dogs need to be matched to humans based on different characteristics such as similarities or names.
