Club Nintendo Picross is a game in Nintendo's Picross series that was only available to Japanese members of Club Nintendo. It was downloadable for 80 points. Like all Picross games, the player must solve nonograms, where a picture is made by filling in squares on a grid within a time limit. Which squares are filled is determined by numbers on each row and column. The numbers indicate how many squares are filled in within that row or column. A wrong guess penalizes time. Too many wrong guesses, and the game is over.
There are three modes: Easy, Normal, and Micross. Some puzzles will allow hints, such as checking if an entire row is correct, a navigation tool to check for mistakes, and a Hint Roulette, which randomly fills in a correct combination at the start of the game. For other puzzles, hints are unavailable. In Micross, which is a combination of the words micro and Picross, players must solve a huge puzzle on a grid of 80x80 squares.
Each puzzle is a picture of a Nintendo character. Whole pages are dedicated to the Mario and Legend of Zelda series, and other puzzles include references to Devil World, Excitebike, and Game & Watch, among others.
