Tropico 5 is the latest in the Tropico franchise by Kalypso Media. Continuing on from the success of Tropico 4, Tropico 5 is set on the fictional remote island of Tropico where players take charge as the ruler of the island nation.

Their task is to build an empire as the one ruler of the island. This 'dictator sim' allow platers to control their country with all new features such as 'Eras' which sets the beginning of the game in an era such as the days of colonization to the Cold War with new tasks and obstacles to overcome.
