Blood+ - Souyoku no Battle Rondo, from Sony Entertainment, is an adventure game released in Japan for the Playstation 2. Set during the year between episodes 32 and 33, after Riku's death, the game alternates between an "Active Demo" section where the player can make decisions that change the story line, and full action sequences where the player, as Saya, fights with her sword to collect chiropteran crystals.

A kinder and gentler looking Saya Otonashi showcases her sword thrusting skills in a new interactive story based on the Blood+ animation series. With a prettier face and a more athletic body than the pudgy Saya of old, the newtype acts like an actual girl and even smiles from time to time. Saya goes to high school and makes friends like other kids but she has a dark side to her life where she's part of an organization known as Red Shield. Protected by a cellist named Hagi who appears in emergencies with sword in hand, Saya is the first line of defense against creatures known as Yokushu or Chiropterans which subsist on human blood.

Blood+ is primarily an interactive novel which depicts key events of the animated series of the same name. In addition to viewing the Blood+ story, players also engage in full-blown action sequences where Saya battles Yokushu. For the story portion however, players watch as Saya (who has no recollection of her previous life as a vampire slayer) slowly begins to realize her position in the world and her affiliation with the Red Shield group. In the first scene, Saya is walking to school when the first memory of Hagi hits where the cellist fed her blood from his hand and gave her impetus to destroy a rampaging Yokushu.
