Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, is a 1996 platforming video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was the third and final installment in the Donkey Kong Country series until Nintendo announced Retro Studios would be reviving the series and developing the next installment, Donkey Kong Country Returns, for the Wii.
Donkey Kong Country 3, along with the rest of the DKC trilogy, was ported to the Game Boy Advance in 2005 under Nintendo's "Advance" series of SNES enhanced ports. The game was also released on the Wii's Virtual Console service in December 2007, although the game (as well as other Donkey Kong Country titles) was taken down in November 2012, presumably due to licensing issues with Rare.
