After the incident surrounding the Scarlet Mist covering Gensokyo,

Sakuya Izayoi, chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, notices something else amiss. The people she called family back at the mansion have gone missing and an unwelcome guest mentions that "Spring still hasn't come." Sakuya immediately sets out toward the site of the obliterated Scarlet Devil Castle in search of why that may be, only to find a sight she can't believe, the castle standing there once more...
