The protagonist, Surarin lives in Slime Kingdom. One day while he return from the sailing, his kingdom is attacked by Tails Troupe, and the "Rainbow Orbs", treasures of the state, were stolen. The Boss of the Tails Troupe spreads these orbs around the world, and sets up guards to prevent them from being taken back. Surarin and his crew sail around the world retrieving the Orbs.

The Square Enix mascot Slime becomes the hero in Dragon Quest's newest game. Debuting on the Nintendo 3DS, the game brings gamers more dynamic fun. Stretch the slime's elastic body to the max to attack the pirates in the Shippo-dan. Fly out of the screen and crash land on the enemy's ships. If taking your enemies down one by one is too slow, bash your ship against your enemies. Win and collect parts from the battles to power-up your ship. And when no pirates in the game poses any more challenges to you, turn on the network mode to battle your friends' slimes.
