I've been gaming since the early 90s, although unfortunately i don't have as much free time as i used to. Any game that is rated a 6 or higher i have enjoyed playing to at least a certain degree. Higher scores are generally awarded based on how much fun/re-playable the game is; how well older, more retro, games hold up by today's standards is also something that influences my thoughts for some of the more "classic" games i have played. One last important aspect is how much of a lasting impression a game leaves me.

Feel free to say hello and leave a comment.

I've played far too many video games -_-

How I rate:

10.0 = Favourites. These are the games i can come back to time and time again. Regardless of their age, i still adore them

9.0 = Masterpiece. Games that are not only the gold standard for their respective franchise, but helped define their genres

8.0 = Fantastic. A couple of issues aside, these are a definite recommendation

7.0 = Good. A solid enough game that i can enjoy coming back to. Lacks that wow factor to be rated higher

6.0 = Decent. Nothing special, but still fun enough to play although i am unlikely to ever pick it up again

--------------------------- I Like The Game

5.0 = Meh. Not a bad game per say but something is sorely lacking for me to enjoy it

--------------------------- I Dislike the game

4.0 = Poor/Disappointing. Something akin to missed potential or poor execution of ideas

3.0 = Bad. Plain and simple

2.0 = Awful. I hate this game

1.0 = Burn the Disc

hi want to be friends

Wow, I feel like an a-hole. You say it took a bit to get back to me, but this one takes the cake. I'm now the shittier replier. Please don't feel bad about taking time give a response back. As for your Tales of Symphonia tale, that reminds me of my experience with Valkyria Chronicles. That damn game has been sitting in my steam library for about that length of time with me coming back to it every now and then and just getting bored of it eventually. I've recently tried picking it up again and I guess I'll just try charging through the rest of it because that game has become an experience of years in the making. But I've yet to form an opinion on the Tales of games, and I'd like to check out one of them eventually. Probably Vesperia or Berseria? Not sure. Going off of Tales, though, what are some of your favorite JRPG's? Speaking of PS3, I recently acquired one off of a relative for pretty cheap. So I'm pretty excited about that. Don't know when I'd even get to playing things on it. As I need to clear my backlog on some of the other things I have. Lordy lord! Other than all that though, how have you been?

That's cool, man. I can be pretty bad at replying on time as well. No worries! Yea. I suppose we both have the same problem with our PSN libraries. Lol. I haven't played any of the Tales games. From your experience, what do you think of the Tales series? Yea, Uni's pretty cool so far. I tend to kind of stay in the dorm and study or what not. I should probably find some extracurricular activities to do honestly. Maybe. 12 years, man? You're making me feel young. I guess I'm the opposite between PS3 and PS4. Never played on a PS3 and there are plenty of games on exclusive to that console I want to play like: Infamous, MGS4 (Need to play the other games leading up to Metal Gear Solid 4 though), and Ni No Kuni. I'll let you know. I'm excited to get more into Resident Evil and get out of Operation Racoon City being my only finished experience with the franchise. Lol. Hmm. that's unfortunate to hear, but you seem pretty pleased with what you've seen of the RE2 remake so far. It's certainly been getting quite a bit of buzz lately. And yea, I'm quite looking forward to DMC5 as I'm pretty fond of 3 and 4. I love the the over the top and fluid combat in both of those games. But yea, here's to hoping DMC5 nails it!

50 hours? Yikes! Keep going strong, man. Lord, going through a bunch of Tales would be an awful lot of time. (Need to play some of that series at some point) God, the worst part with me is that I already have quite a few games on my PSN account I need to play but if I find any games on sale I've been wanting to get to (on the PSN store if they're like $5) I'll usually buy them. Simply adding to my library. Just recently Bastion and Transistor for pretty darn cheap as I've been meaning to play some of SuperGiant's games. University's going alright so far. Nothing much to complain about. Umm, I'm liking my data analysis class well enough. Most of it so far is working with excel and building off of that. It's not super interesting, but I like it so far. Cool to hear, I'm not sure how long the current gen will last as there's rumors of a PS5 launch right now, I believe. I'm loathing that thought, though. I'm thinking of getting into Resident Evil with the Origins collection on PS4 which has a remaster of the original as well as Resident Evil 0. I figure it's as good a start as any. There's certainly no shortage of ports or remasters when it comes to the Resident Evil franchise so while I haven't really played much of the series, it's certainly accessible. But yea, watching footage of one of the "Mr. X" sequences in the new RE2 remake looks great.

I can only imagine how busy you've been, man. I totally understand wanting to get through your backlog of games as I have a pretty large backlog myself. I'd love to get through that at some point. I've been doing well, thanks. I recently started a semester at university so that's most of my time lately. I can have pretty good lengths of time where I'm not on MAL but I still log in every now and then. Been trying to be online more recently and watch a few things but gaming has been mostly my focus lately during my free time lately. I see that you're likely a big Resident Evil fan. I have played embarassingly few Resident Evil games. The only one I've finished is Operation Raccoon City and that was an absolute turd of a game. Are you looking forward to the Resident Evil 2 remake?

January 20, 2019 @ 10:05 pm
Yeah, it's the same Derp Man from MAL. I suppose I was pretty negligent in confirming that in both my comment and on my profile. My profile on here is still fairly new. Yeah, there are a few games on here that are missing from the database which I've played. I haven't bothered either. Lol I'd kind of feel bad because I understand that the mods had to lock the game requests forums cause there were so many. Lol, how've you been, man?

Hey mate, that's quite a list you got there. It's nice to see you on here.

That's a great list you got there. Nice to see another MAL user!^^

Not a worry for late reply, I understand. Being a tad completionist myself, I find I have to complete an entire series if I really like one game and try to complete games even if they are not favourable. That would be quite neat being able to play many games for free, I imagine I'd also play a lot that way. Ah, I see what you mean regarding replaying games from childhood. I am the same, before I removed my ratings, even games with a low score, there was something I liked about them. I think most games have a likeable characteristic that appeals to some, despite not being the greatest. Due to everyone's rating system being unique I thought I should ask, rather than presume. Thank you for the explanation, it was interesting.

Excellent list. I'm curious though, I noticed your mean game rating is 4.5 which doesn't necessarily conclude much but you've played many games from series still giving an average low. Are you a slight completionist despite not being the most fond of franchises or do you try giving series another chance?
