Schuld

This game doesn't exist in the database because it's a RPGMaker game, but I still wasted time playing, so I, at the very least, want to be able to review my feelings on it. Spoilers ahead.

Schuld is a German RPG-maker game that gained a following online as a good creepy game. Being a fan of horror games, I decided to play it. My mistake.

Gameplay: 4 Most of the game plays very simply. As a gamer who loves talking to absolutely everyone, and investigating everything ever, I enjoyed the dedication the creator put into making each item have a brief description. The puzzles in the game are simple, as well, and I enjoyed them, but they don't really add anything to the story, and there enough of them to really make much impact. In the entire game, there are maybe six puzzles, all relatively easy.

The downgrade on the gameplay is because some of the ridiculous dodge sequences and timing games. Everyone I've talked to about it agrees that the boss battles are ridiculous and unnecessary, the dodging of monsters and cyborgs is almost all luck, and the timing of when to cross bridges is absolutely terrible. This game has no consideration to its audience, and, in fact, only made these timing games super difficult to hide the fact that the game is so short.

Story: 3

The story was all set up to be amazing. At first, the game leads you to believe that you are trapped in hell and have to overcome the seven deadly sins in order to regain your humanity. What a cool concept! Nope. That's not the story at all. Nope. The husband of your girlfriend traps you in a prison on the moon and tortures you to get back at you for sleeping with his wife. Add a moral-conscience AI and you have the game.

Overall: 4

This game was not a good choice on my part. It was short, the plot was bad, and the controls for the "mini-games" were awful.
