Oh, it will be certainly worth the money and time despite the disappointments.
The gameplay is very very solid but with a few problems: 1. The AI is retarded and doesn't have a lot of options. 2. The spell bar is limited, so, as a mage, you won't be able to use all your spells. As for the story, it's good but the ending is very anti-climactic and it goes on in the DLC's. Overall, the game is certainly worth your time. I've done two playthroughs and is in my third now.
