Gems of 2020
January 09, 2021 @ 11:36 am
I've finally got my steam backlog down under 200, this glorious undertaking involves wading through mountains of trash.
Among the refuse, there are certain games that would be considered underrated or not well known but high in quality, this list is quite subjective.

Witcher 3: Death March
November 13, 2017 @ 12:44 am
No surprise after setting the difficulty to Death March on the first playthrough, I've had my ass kicked by bandits and guts torn to shreds by monsters over and over and over again for 30 odd hours. The first ghoul fight in the very beginning of the game must have killed me numerous times and ate my corpse, didn't help that I totally forget that I have Quen in the beginning.
Managed to get to level 15 now 48 hours in, game is now much easier once I've got a good variety of potions, bombs, swords and armor. Dying a lot less, now they're due to stupid mistakes, wrong positioning on group encounters and bad preparation/strategy on boss fights.
Also helps that I can just walk into people's homes and loot everything lol.
0 commentsDXMD: Breach - Ghost Server TEIDE
October 29, 2017 @ 5:00 pm
Well I managed to finally finish off the last achievement outstanding on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided/Breach on this fine Sunday afternoon.
To be honest I found Breach to be really fun despite all the negativity surrounding it, and as for the micro-transactions within Breach. It was never really a necessity as most of the time you'll be earning credits at a fast rate during NETWORK_0 and NETWORK_1.
For those of you who are curious what the Ghost Servers are all about, they are random servers generated daily on a special network. At the end of the network if you are rewarded with a Master Pack with high rates of obtaining A or S rank items. However, just be aware that to actually start dominating some of the servers you will need at least 1 Firewall key, if you don't have any you can just buy one off the shop for 50K credits.
These servers are not very difficult and if you've already finished NETWORK_4A then these servers shouldn't be any problems for you. As always just keep your trigger finger ready, top up your ammo and get ready to make a quick escape.
2 commentsDXMD: Breach - NETWORK_4A S08-CAISSON
October 28, 2017 @ 11:06 am
This is probably the most difficult Prime Unit server that I've dealt with in the entire network, I've highlighted my approach to tackling this server in some steps below. Keep in mind this is only one way of dealing with the Prime Unit, this was the most efficient way with the setup I have.
The strategy I used for this server was to keep the Titan Aug on for as long as possible to fulfill the server preloaded patch criteria and be able to survive while at the same time dishing out some serious damage.
Here you can see that the server is preloaded with a Damage Ban patch which makes things harder if you are aiming for a high score. To help with Titan Aug maintenance we added an S-Rank and A-Rank Energy Modifier. If you've invested in Energy Augs then you can swap out the A-Rank for a Avatar Weakness Patch for a higher score multipler since you can't get hurt during Titan.
Next you're going to want to unlock or turn-on your Titan Aug and invest in the energy saving enhancements which will help greatly. If you have enough praxis consider investing in the Energy Aug tree to further boost your energy.
Next on the preparation is too load out your inventory with: 1. Biocells 2. Energy Expansion Kits 3. A High DPS Weapon (S-Rank Preferable) 4. AP Bullets 5. EMP Grenades/Mines (Disable The Sentry Bot When It Moves Towards You)
Lastly you should fine-tune your weapon for DPS as much as possible, as I've said before S-Rank is preferred as it has the most upgrades and damage potential. Also you should take off the silencer if you have one because it will reduce your damage output.
Once you enter the server hide behind the railing a bit north of where you spawn and you should see a Sentry Bot with a yellow warning sign. Next turn on the Titan Aug and start unloading your weapon on the robot, you can drop some EMP mines if it starts walking towards you. At this point you may wonder why you even need Titan if the robot is disabled, the reason is that once you start the fight, every sniper and gunner in the Santeau Server will start sniping you and without Titan your health will drop faster than Jensen's Icarus Strike.
That's all I've got, have fun in Breach.
0 commentsDone With Skyrim SE
October 15, 2017 @ 3:31 pm
After clocking in about 846 hours between both Skyrim Legendary Edition and Skyrim Special Edition, I can fully say I am completely done with this game and will no longer be (re)-playing this game for the foreseeable future. There comes a time when you've played a game long enough that you have to move-on and do something new regardless of how many new features or mods come out for the game (Skyrim).
I've had a blast with Skyrim and with the addition of modding have added countless hours of gameplay and customization to the game. My final goal for both games were to complete all the achievements, all 75 of them and complete all DLC as well. In the end my final level in SE is level 80, specializing in 2-Handed combat, saved Tamriel from Alduin and engaged in a Death Match between the first Dragonborn and the last Dragonborn in the realm of oblivion.
Ecstasy for a completion freak like me.
I'm done, my Dragonborn bids you all farewell.

Here is my first waifu, MerryGate, she ma main and is a sword fiona.
Batman: Arkham Knight Tips
May 30, 2017 @ 9:20 am
Just though I'd share some tips that people might find useful while I wrap up my new game plus run.
If you use grapple onto a railing you can stay hanging instead of vaulting over by holding R1, useful for predator encounters.
To quickly vault over railings or ledges while standing double tap Forward A+A, this will cause Batman to do an aerial sommersault.
You can initiate a Fear Takedown on non-predator layout by throwing a smoke pellet on enemies, next fly into the smoke. There will often be a prompt to start a Fear Takedown which will instantly take down 3 to 5 opponents depending on upgrades.
Minigunners on Predator should be taken down using Explosive Gel + Wall, Smoke Pellet + Environment Takedown, Disruptor + Mine, Remote Hack + Environment Explosive. The Voice Synthesizer will help tremendously. Regular takedown will not work, and it's only recommended to use beat down technique on the last one.
For combat challenge maps, try to finish off your free flow by using Blade Dodge Takedown or Ground Pound Finisher. These 2 techniques net you a 100x or 75x multiplier to your score.
Ways to take down a Serpent Drone:
- Use the Batmobile's 60mm Cannon and aim it at the sky. - Glide high enough over the drone, there is a prompt to land on it and use Explosive Gel. - Use Disruptor to sabotage the gun, then fly into the search light to make it self-destruct.
Electric Charge on stun batons will knock down the opponent.
If you cannot do a predator takedown on the guy with Detective Vision Scrambler then you can use the Electric Charge on him to fry his Scrambler.
Use Search and Destroy Combo on shields, it will make encounters A LOT easier.
Use Distrupter on Medics especially on Predator if you are not prioritizing the Medic, this will prevent them from healing downed enemies.
Don't forget to take the Freeze Grendade off the table once you finish Panessa Studios.
I-Frame animations occurs when you use the Batclaw on electrified buffed enemies, you also get an I-Frame animation when you use an Aerial Attack on guys with shields.
Persona 3: Tricks
January 22, 2017 @ 2:48 pm
A list of tips and tricks that people may find useful when first starting out playing P3 or P3 (FES). I don't know if the advice outlined below will work on P3 Portable though. That being said here are some useful tricks that I found a little too late into the game, there shouldn't be any spoilers here.
1) Use the P3 fusion site to find the correct recipe for the Persona you are trying to create, this won't work in The Answer since you don't have access to the compendium.

2) When a shadow is facing you, you can backtrack far enough away from the shadow until it's orange dot in the mini-map disappears. This will cause the shadow to turn it's back to you once you reach it again for an easy preemptive strike. Alternatively: you can also go to the menu screen and then exit out of it, and the shadows will immediately change direction. (OdysseyRPG)
3) When fusing personas in the velvet room, especially with 3+ personas the final persona result will inherit some abilities from the original persona. If you don't like the "inherited" abilities you can re-roll them until you find a combination you like by deselecting them and re-entering them as part of the recipe.
4) If you can't go to school for a length of time you can go to the shrine and use the fortune box to refresh or increase the social link relationship. This is important for social links involving some of the female characters.
5) If you find the stairs early in the dungeon and are too lazy to level or explore the floor, you can get your team to explore and pickup equipment for you. The trick is to make sure there is no shadows on the mini-map otherwise, your teammate may get aggroed by shadows and waste time.
6) Be careful if you choose to overwrite personas in the compendium, this is because if you use the P3 fusion calculator, some final results may be different from what was calculated because some of the preceding personas may be too high of a level to create the desired persona.
7) Save your money, the equipment found in dungeons are usually always better than the ones bought from the police station.
8) When fusing personas always tried to at least inherit Growth 2 or Growth 3, this is very helpful especially in The Answer.
9) Don't be afraid to switch up your team if a boss is too difficult, this game needs you to be adaptable.
10) On the shuffle victory screen, if the cards move off-screen, I find that 70-80% of the time the second card is an EXP card.
Cards will reorder in the order they were taken off the screen from left to right. (OdysseyRPG)
11) Use the tactics combat menu to control your team's SP usage, you will need it.
12) If an item says, it is "valuable", just sell it, it has no important use.
13) Switch your team to "Stand By" when the enemy is down if you need to buy time, this means that the enemy can't act for the entire turn.

Spoilers
In regards to the story when taking the side of the mages, the one decision made by Orsino the first-enchanter of the mages is one of the most idiotic, I though mages were smart?. I had a geared and vicious team of Hawke (Rogue), Aveline (Warrior), Merrill (Mage) and Varric (Rogue). The templars were absolutely shredded to bits as soon as they entered the Circle tower, we were winning
But then nooooooo Orsino decided to use blood magic and turn himself into a Harvester, wtf?
Assassin's Creed Rogue: Easy Hunting

Just a quick tip for people who want a faster way of hunting animals for their skin and pelts. Instead of running around swinging your sword like a madman hoping to finally catch that pesky fox, you can use the rope dart. It auto aims when in range and will not consume ammo, works best on small animals or deer. Though you could always skip this too and just buy everything at the shop.
