Revenant Saga

Become a Revenant and find the truth beyond revenge in this gothic fantasy RPG with stunning 3D battles!

After being turned into an immortal being known as a 'Revenant' and learning of the existence of a demon within him, Albert sets out on a journey to make the person who did this to him pay with their very life. However, as he runs into others along the way dealing with their own figurative demons, what is the answer he finds...?

Boasting a story that blurs the lines between good and evil, and plenty of content to go around, this is one title not to be missed! This includes a variety of unique subquests, in-battle transformation systems, as well as a weapon forging system allowing players to make entirely unique weapons as they battle in turn-based battles with 3D animation!

strikes a perfect balance between a well-designed, immersive world and plenty of room for silly shit and classic videogame logic. the story is horribly bloated and drawn out miles beyond the point where it has lost all steam, which is made even worse by the add-on, but the first two chapters are just a huge playground to lose yourself in for hours. good game.

extremely fun and rich game as long as you're in the earliest learning phase, collapses under its concept as soon as you start trying to actually improve. a game where you are expected to work as a synergetic unit with four other players who you've never talked to, and where the most effective playstyle is the least fun.

unlike silent hill 2, which was less of a survival horror game and more of an interactive david lynch movie, part 3 is a much more conventional horror game, and an absolutely excellent one at that. improved gameplay, visuals and weird/unsettling/frightening situations compared to part 2, but not quite as brilliant in sound design, and the writing is somehow even worse. still, in terms of classic survival horror gaming experience, it doesn't get better than this.

one of the rare cases of an actually well-delivered story in a video game. together with the unbelievable sound design, this makes for one of the densest atmospheres in video game history. THE classic of horror games.

with the pc remaster of 2017, which fixes the terrible n64 fps controls, the original n64 version of this game has been made obsolete, but apart from that, the game mostly still holds up. weapons, enemies, death animations, music and sound; all great. excellent game.
