Hey, everyone! I'm BroRocker and I've been gaming for over 25 years. I really enjoy a wide-variety of different games and am always looking for something new or challenging as well as going back and revisiting old favorites.
I mostly game on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and a mid-range gaming PC that I'm always hoping to upgrade.

Halo 5: Guardians Xbox One
I'm going to start by saying that my review as far as scoring goes will only reflect Halo 5's campaign. The reason for this is that I've honestly struggled with being as competitive in Halo 5 multiplayer as I've been in previous titles, and I feel like my reflection would be negatively based on my performance thus far; however, I will make a few comments about the multiplayer after my review of the campaign. With that being said, let's jump into the campaign: Basically, this game is the second part of the story that started in Halo 4. Without spoiling anything, the premise of the main plot goes as follows: Master Chief and his team are in pursuit of a mysterious message from someone while newcomer Spartan Locke and his team are in pursuit of Chief, believing his mission might have dangerous implications for the galaxy. Along the way, both teams...

Titanfall PC
Going into 2014, Titanfall was probably hyped more than any other game. It had won a lot of awards at several conferences the year prior and there was a pretty massive marketing campaign behind the game leading up to launch. The question is, "did it deliver?" The simplest way to describe Titanfall would be to say that it's essentially Call of Duty with mechs. Respawn, the studio behind Titanfall consisted of a lot of people who had worked on the extremely popular "Modern Warfare" games, and you can clearly see a lot of elements from that series in Titanfall. This isn't necessarily a bad thing; however, it's similarities do hurt the game in standing out in some ways. Obviously, though, the big deal and selling point of the game are the Titans (the mechs), and that part does make this game stand out from other fps games currently in circulation. Every game...

Azure Striker Gunvolt Nintendo 3DS
Azure Striker: Gunvolt is a throwback to classic 2D side-scrollers and it definitely delivers in many aspects. If you were a fan of the Mega Man X games, then I would say this game is worth its low price. In my opinion, it is one of the hidden gems on the 3DS. With that said, let's get into specifics: GAME PLAY: 8 One of the things that is unique about this game is the combat. In this game, you play as Gunvolt, who has the ability to emit electric-psionic energy. Your equipped with an energy pistol which can be used to shoot enemies in typical fashion; however, the pistol is actually your secondary weapon, mainly used to compliment your main attack, which is a electric shield of sorts. You use you pistol to tag or "charge" enemies" for low amounts of damage. The goal is typically to tag multiple enemies on screen;...

Splatoon Nintendo Wii U
Splatoon is probably one of the most pleasant surprises for me in gaming in quite a while. I had read a lot of the positive reviews and hype, but I was not expecting what I found when I started playing. Nintendo has a real gem in this game. I'll start by saying that the gameplay is very unique and a lot of fun. It's a third-person shooter that at times feels more like a classic Nintendo 3D platformer. As someone who has played a lot of shooters over the years, the focus in this game of "inking" the map more than getting kills was a breath of fresh air. It's such a simple concept to basically color the map more than your opponent, but it is so much fun doing it. Even in losing I usually find a lot of enjoyment in just the experience of playing. Skill capping is a...

Heroes of the Storm PC
Heroes of the Storm is Blizzard's attempt at getting a piece of the ever-growing MOBA market. This is somewhat ironic, though, because the argument can easily be made that the entire MOBA frenzy of today started back with the custom games of Warcraft III, another Blizzard title, over 10 years ago. Now, you would think that due the connection between Warcraft III and the birth of today's MOBA's that Heroes of the Storm would have the potential to become the best of the genre; however, at least so far that's not the case. Don't get me wrong, Heroes of the Storm has some very fun elements and some things that do manage to separate it from its biggest competition, DOTA and League of Legends, but it does lack some key elements that has made the other two franchises so successful. I'll start on a positive note, though, and go over the...
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Nintendo Wii U
As fair or as unfair as it may be, it's hard not to review Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U without automatically comparing it to its three predecessors. By doing so, it honestly is a difficult game to pin down as far as how I actually feel about it. On one hand, it's a fantastic fighting game with the gameplay easily matching the other games in the series in quality; however, on the other hand it doesn't do much to separate itself from the other Smash Bros. titles and doesn't take the steps you would expect a sequel to take in order to push the series further. Let's dive into the details: GAMEPLAY - 9 I gave the gameplay a 9 almost by default because since Super Smash Bros. Melee the series has not seen a lot of drastic changes in its core gameplay from game-to-game. In Super Smash Bros. for...

Mega Man X4 PlayStation 1
Mega Man X4 was my very first venture in the Mega Man franchise, and it was a game that really changed the way I looked at other games going forward. I was only eleven or so at the time, and much of my gaming experience to that point was mainly with Mario and Sonic games on previous-gen consoles. For starters, one of the things I loved about the game was the 'look' of the game. At a time when the new consoles were pushing 3D adventures with highly pixelated figures, Capcom chose to stay true to the X series and made a very well-polished and great looking 2D platform. The colors were vibrant, the characters and enemy designs were creative unique, the landscapes of each level were distinct, and even the motion designs of the characters were impressive for its time. It was easily the best graphical 2D game up to...

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PC
I'll start by saying that I had never played either of the previous titles in The Witcher series; so, this was my first venture as Geralt of Rivia. The only reason I even played this game was because my sister-in-law got a free PC download code for it and gave it to me. I had no idea what to expect. I had been reading the hype on this game for months, but I just didn't know enough about the series to understand what I was missing. Let me say, though, that this game exceeded all of my expectations and blew me away. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has many things that set it apart from other games in its genre that I have played before. First and foremost, it has an incredibly immersive plot - perhaps the grandest of any game I've ever played. It is certainly an epic and long...

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Xbox One
For my first review I'll go over the game I most recently completed, Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor. WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE GAME: 1) COMBAT - The combat in Shadow of Mordor is some of the smoothest and most refined I've ever experienced in a game. Monolith has taken elements from the Arkham series and blended them with some things from Assassin's Creed and Dynasty Warriors to make some epic and seamless brawls with hordes of Orcs (say that 3 times fast). It doesn't take long to get the hang of the combat system in the game and once you do you'll realize how easy and dynamic it is. That being said, the game also does an excellent job of being casual and challenging. Certain missions require you to use more stealth and strategic planning before going in. Also, no matter how strong your character gets, you still have a limit to...
