My Consoles

Coming soon...

Hi all,

Name's Kami, and I've been into gaming since I was pretty young. I had to play older consoles (such as N64 or Dreamcast) through my friends whenever I'd hang out with them, but soon enough I had my own from which my game collection had finally started to grow. My first console was Playstation 2, and my first three games were Kingdom Hearts, ATV Offroad Fury, and Tony Hawks: Pro Skater 4. All in all a decent way to start.

Since then, I've got an original XBOX, three different XBOX 360s (first [Xbox 360 Arcade] red-ringed, second [Xbox 360 S] lasted super long, but the fan died, and the third [Xbox 360 E] is still running strong), and finally an XBOX ONE.

As far as all-time favorites, the Kingdom Hearts franchise has always captured my imagination, though I'm ashamed to admit I haven't played all of the spin-off games. Some other series at the tip-top of my list: ? Assassin's Creed (especially the entire Ezio saga, and ACIV: Black Flag) ? Fallout 3 & New Vegas (too many hours to count playing these games...) Probably soon Fallout 4 too ? The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and Skyrim (again, so many hours invested in each) ? The Witcher series (mostly the last two of the series, as I've never played through the first

Here's an outlier; I've a weakness for Koei's "Warriors" franchises (Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Warriors Orochi). I practically throw my money at them whenever the next installment is released. I fully realize that, insofar as quality, they reach nowhere near the top of the charts, but the fun-factor for me is top notch. Perhaps let's call it a guilty pleasure franchise.

Aside from gaming, I've graduated from my university in late 2014 with a BA in Graphic / Information Design, and plan on going back sometime soon to start on an MA in Information Design. Currently, I am working full-time as a graphic designer for a large auto group's advertising & marketing department in Connecticut?it's incredibly challenging but fun. I have been artsy for as long as I can recall, starting originally in fine arts and cartooning until I decided that graphic design was the path I wanted to go down professionally.

I'm a total nerd. I am a huge anime / manga fan, and have seen nearly 300 different shows (and counting). My tastes are pretty diverse; I can get into a high-octane slaughterfest action anime just as much as I can fall in love with an easy-going slice-of-life. Additionally, I love creative writing, worldbuilding, and character creation. Much like reading a good book, I find that collaborative creation is just as entertaining and fun.

I've only been able to travel outside of the US a few times, but I definitely caught the travel-bug once I did. Hawaii doesn't really count, but it was an amazing trip. Paradise is pretty spot-on, as a way to describe that place. I also managed to take a two-week trip to Japan back while I was in college?I plan on making it a regular venture at some point.

Uhh... I like the colors blue and green. I drive a black 2011 Mazda 3, and plan on getting a 2016 Mazda 6 for my next car. Favorite types of food: Pasta, Stirfry, many kinds of Japanese food.... I think that's it.

TL;DR Hi. I'm a nerdy artist gamer and I'm happy to be here!
