I truly believe Video Games are art. No matter what some critics say regarding their status, VG are bona fide art.

Surely I'm not an authority regarding art and would like to add that my own cultural level isn't that of an intellectual, but isn't the aim of art to evoke a sentimental reaction from us? If so, then my original point stands.

When you play a really good game, you are drawn into a different world; the amalgam of story, characters, music, graphics, level design and so on, provide a reaction that elicits an emotional answer.

I've felt such feelings when playing games like Zelda, TES series, Battlefield and many more.

The role of video games as an entertainment is to let us live, whether by the character or ourselves, in another world and to experience new stories. That is why I so much love this form of entertainment.
