Haha, I can imagine German is quite difficult to learn, a lot of non-native speakers say so. Even a lot of Germans have trouble with grammatics xD One day, I want to learn Polish among other languages, I hope it's not that hard ^^ I had similiar feelings when I played the first Layton. I thought it was kinda boring at first too, even though I loved the OST and aesthetics from the beginning, but it got really good later on! The next two games are even better, my favourite is the third, Unwound Future. After that, the games became a little boring, but still good. Don't worry about your English, I'm also not a native speaker, so we're in the same boat xD I might play TWEWY too, since it's heading to the Switch, tell me what you think about it when you're playing it! I really hope you like Terranigma, have fun :D

I don't really have too much knowledge of western developed games, I've always been a Nintendo person myself xD

It's called just Layton because the professor himself isn't in the game :/ Oh, you're from Poland? Then we are neighbours, I'm from Germany! I love Poland, it's such a great country! The 3DS is also one of my favorite consoles, it has such a big library. Don't worry about that, we all use emulators at some point, and you are supporting the industry by purchasing the games for consoles you own ^^ I'm glad you got interested in the Nintendo franchises, some of the best games ever (imo) are part of their franchises! Aaaaw, thank you, that's so nice to hear, let me know what you think of all those games you will play! I hope you have a lot of fun!

My personal favorites are Awakening, Shadows of Valentia and Radiant Dawn. I'd mostly recommend Awakening or SoV for story reasons, since they're both set in the same world as SD. If you don't mind playing on emulators, I think there is an English path for Shin Monshou no Nazo (sequel to SD). If you just want to play another FE, I think all the GBA titles will do fine, they're all great games! ^^ My favorite out of them is Sacred Stones.

As for Fire Emblem, not all the titles in the series are related to each other. Fire Emblem: Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Tsurugi is the first game in the series, of which Shadow Dragon is a remake of. The next game is Gaiden, which is set in the same world and time as SD (it was recently remade too, it's called Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia). The third game is Monshou no Nazo, the first FE on SNES, and a sequel to SD (it was remade on the DS as well (Shin Monshou no Nazo), but, like most FE games, only released in Japan). The 4th and 5th games are Genealogy of the Holy War and Thracia 776, both Japan only releases on the SNES, and both related to each other (Thracia is some sort of a midquel to Genealogy). Then you have Fuin no Tsurugi, the first FE on the GBA (Japan only). The next game is simply called Fire Emblem in the USA and Europe, as it was the first oversea release of a FE game, and it's a prequel to Fuin no Tsurugi. Sacred Stones is not connected to any other FE, also on GBA. Then you have Path of Radiance (NGC) and Radiant Dawn (Wii), RD being a direct sequel to PoR. The game that made FE popular again is Awakening, it's set in the same universe as SD, but more than 1000 years later. You've also got Fates on the 3DS, Birthright, Conquest and Revelation, which are the three different paths, but it's all set in the same world and time.

I'm glad you liked it! I agree, more characters should have played a bigger part in the story, but I think the reason or this is that SD is a remake of an NES game, where there wasn't much possibility for character development or story ^^ Sure, ask me any time! I'm currently playing the newest Professor Layton game, and I'm also kinda struggling with some puzzles xD

Yes you can! It's actually the remake of the very first Fire Emblem, which was only released in Japan! So it's a perfect way to get into the series ^^

Hey there! Big thanks for participating in our Gaming challenge! 💙 Unfortunately, it's impossible to edit your posts after a while in the Sign-up thread for the challenge, so you won't be able to keep track of the games you've been playing there. You can make a blog entry where you can update your progress whenever you like though! Sorry for the inconvenience. Have fun with the challenge! 😄

I haven't written any reviews yet, I should get on that!
