Some notes about how I rank a lot of games (based on aesthetic and mechanical beauty)
10/10 ? A ranking for games that I actively want to represent my personal aesthetic ? its style and the beauty of its mechanics resonates with me for years to come.
9/10 ? A ranking for games that are aesthetically and mechanically excellent ? even if some ideas don?t fully resonate with me, I am completely at the same wavelength as these games.
8/10 ? A ranking for games that I respect moreso than actually favor ? these types of games attempt a lot of aspects that aren?t conventionally seen, meaning I get at least something from what they achieve and the shortcomings they present.
7/10 ? A ranking for games with plenty of great ideas and concepts to analyze ? they don?t fully hit the mark of personal quality or potential, but are absolutely worth discussing for what they attempt.
6/10 ? A ranking for games that aren?t necessarily my thing, but I?m still satisfied with experiencing them ? reserved for a lot of games that are out of my genre or pretty niche to me.
5/10 ? A ranking for games that are pretty plain and mediocre ? their aesthetics or mechanics make it moreso of a chore to sit through, but at least they manage to be completable and over with.
4/10 ? A ranking for games that have become a lot worse the more I think about them ? mostly disappointments or games that are continuously boring in aesthetics or mechanics.
3/10 ? A ranking for games that have a few things to mention ? but hardly reflect the message of the production.
2/10 ? A ranking for games that are busy work, aesthetically ugly or unsalvageable ? when I think of chores or judgment that gets you depressed, I think of these.
1/10 ? A ranking for games that serve absolutely nothing for me ? a waste of time for myself, for other viewers, and for the production itself.
