Eh people praising this like it's actual high art. Sure the writing is pretty damn good "for a video game", and the monster design is pretty brilliant. But other than that, what's so great about it anyway? Gameplay is mediocre, script and voice acting get in the way of the tone. Kind of like a zany, B-movie flavor that would fit with something like RE4 rather than this. It seriously damages the immersion.

I never thought that a horror game could generate such a good experience, it really surprised me, the metaphors, the atmosphere, I have very few things to complain about. 9/10
The best silent hill game ever
The whole SH series is literally the only horror I'll ever need in my life in any medium. SH2 especially is the creme de la creme.

I think my experience of this game can be summarised in two words: Pyramid Head.

I would've loved to have been able to complete this but playstation 2 stopped working before I could, however I hope to get the Silent Hill HD Collection one day :)
