Videogames are a huge passion of mine. I've been into videogames ever since my parents got us an NES for Christmas. I enjoy many different genres of videogames, and my current mood usually reflects the games I'm playing. I'm always looking for new friends to game with so don't hesitate to add my gamertags to your friends list!
MyVideoGameList.com was originally built by myself and morgan as a place to track the videogames we were playing or had finished. It's very similar to MyAnimeList which was built to meet needs that the original MyAnimeList.net website was not meeting. We intended for MyVideoGameList.com to be used by a few close friends however it seems other gamers have discovered us and started using it as well! Since then we've done a small amount of promotion and advertising, but we still consider ourselves to be a small, close-knit community. Since the spring of 2011 we have grown into a community of 25,000+ users. I personally continue to work on and develop the site as much as I can when time permits. I also continue to learn new things about web development and community management on a daily basis. We hope to continue to build and improve upon what MyVideoGameList already offers.

261 totalAbout the genre thing for Visual Novels. I wish you could go ahead and create them as I'm reluctant to add the games when there is no appropriate tag for them. For example, stuff like Fate/Stay Night barely fits the requirements for an action/adventure tag but something like, say, Clannad which is basically pretty much all dialogue doesn't fit that tag in the least.
Unless, of course, you can just change them AFTER the Visual Novels are added to the site.

Another question...do you plan on allowing Visual Novels on this site? They are technically a game, but at the same time you could argue they aren't..It's really up to you as it could go either way.
I have a minor complaint, I'm currently working on adding the 360 version of Oblivion but...I notice the PC version of the game has it listed as an action/adventure game and, yeah, I can see that. But, it's also an RPG as well you know? Is there any plans to put multiple genres for each game?
In any case, I'll go with Action/adventure for now so the database can be consistent.
I like the site and I'll do my best add any games I know of that are not in the database.
I guess another reason to add an edit button would be if the person wanted list the game as re-playing cuz I replay my games all the time, or if they accidently added the wrong game.

Second... There are some games that I would like to add to my list, but they don't really fit into any of the listed genres. I think it would be nice if you could add "adventure" genre to the list below the description box.

Hi Jimmy, I was wondering if you could tell me how to remove/edit a game from your list. I accidentally added the wrong one and I can't figure out how to delete it. I was also wondering how you start new topics in the forums because I don't see an add reply or new topic button anywhere. Thanks!
